Holyoke-French House First Friday
The Holyoke-French House is open for tours on the first Friday of each month, April through October. Come explore this 1760 historic house museum and learn about the two families who lived here. If you have visited us before, it is time to come again! The house has been newly renovated, and the tour includes many updates.
Houses of Boxford
The Document Center has digitized and will be screening a 1969 presentation by Harry Lee Cole. In it, he shares some history of Boxford houses, along with his personal reminiscences of some of their residents.

Earth Day
Visit our table at Earth Day to learn about the Kelsey Plant Nursery and the new Harlan P. Kelsey Research Center that will be opening as a specialized extension of the Document Center!
Earth Day, an event hosted by the Boxford Village Garden Club, will be held outside of the Boxford Town Hall and Library.
Revolutionary Tea Party
Join us for a festive tea party featuring sweet and savory treats! These refreshments will be accompanied by a talk featuring original Colonial and Revolutionary-era documents from the Boxford Historic Document Center collection.
Document Center archivist Robin Siegel will be using a collection of original 18th century town of Boxford documents to examine some of the earliest laws that governed Massachusetts and how these developed into the Massachusetts Constitution, which played an important role in early American efforts to abolish slavery, and eventually served as the model for the US Constitution. We will also be presenting a number of interesting documents in our collection that give us a glimpse into the lives of some Boxford residents who participated in the Revolutionary War.

The Grand Illumination
Step into a winter wonderland and celebrate a beloved Boxford tradition. Our journey begins with heartwarming carols at the Congregational rectory, winding down Elm Street amidst the glow of lighted homes.
The evening’s highlight? The dazzling “Grand Illumination” of the Holyoke-French house!
Conclude this enchanting evening with us, savoring hot drinks and delightful refreshments inside the historic house. Don’t miss this blend of history, tradition, and holiday cheer!

Winterfest
The Document Center will be holding an open house during West Boxford’s annual Winterfest celebration. This year we will be featuring a display of interesting and unique antique holiday cards from our collection (all holidays - not just Christmas!). All of our cards were collected by past Boxford residents, and include those made by hand and also photo cards.
Mt. Vernon Cemetery Walking Tour
Join us for a walking tour of historic Mount Vernon Cemetery in Boxford! The cemetery is located on Mount Vernon Road. Come and learn about the history of Boxford in the Salem Witch Trials, Revolutionary War heroes, and much more. This program is sponsored by the Boxford Cultural Council.

Apple Festival
The Boxford Apple Festival is a longstanding popular September event for both Boxford residents and welcomes other visitors from the greater North Shore area. The Apple Festival will be held Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 10 am-3 pm. The rain date will be Sunday, Sept. 21.
